Default Smartop installation question

I installed the smartop, and it works great. The part comes with a velcro strap to secure the chip onto the car, but there is no good place to strap against in the car. Has anyone come up with a creative way to secure the chip? Thanks for any responses.

I ran into the same issue with my 06 Cab. The instructions stated that you can loop it around the back of the factory control unit but I couldn't do it,--it wasn't like the car,--their instructions were vague. Others have reported no problems with the instructions. Perhaps there has been a part or deisgn change to the controller box. Mine was not closed with screw fasteners.

I have the 06 also and was able to use the velco strip. Does your controller box looks like the one shown in these pictures provided by ronmart?

When I installed mine, I loosened the two screws on the drivers side of the control module that secure the module to the car. The module could then be tilted away from the car far enough to slip the velcro strap between the module and the car. Then it was simply a matter of securing the strap around the SmartTop and the module and re-tightening the two screws. I've had mine in for about 5,000 miles with no problems.

Thanks, Tom. I'll try that this weekend.
