I think if a law inforcement person wants to get very specific even in states where dectectors are legal, he can write you up for site obstruction. A business associate who has a friend who is an officer once walked around my parked car and stated I had a few violations. Even stated the code numbers. One was license plate frame that was slightly blocking one letter, the hardwired V1 on windshield near rear view mirror, PCA and military decal on side vent windows, no front plate, and something else. I laughed at him. Bottom line, I would take down the V1 and suction cups if getting stopped. You just don't want more attention if questioned.

Default Straight Install Question (PSE) without the wiring since most here disconnect

Which muffler installation without cats or headers is loudest PSE or Fabspeed (I cannot tell by listening to the video sound clips)?

In addition, I found out that we could purchase the PSE mufflers (the pair) for around 1,386 (without the wiring). I need to know if the wiring is necessary to install the PSE muffler and pulling the orange cable for max sound.

If straight install is the PSE mufflers on the relax position OPENED for sound at ALL rpm levels (without the wiring installation or vacuum line)?

Has anyone successfully completed a muffler swap to PSE without wiring?

IMO I cannot justify spending extra money and effort and later disconnect the system to allow PSE on ALL the time. I want the loudest muffler setting on ALL the time (on start-up & all rpm levels).

In NJ it is illegal to have anything on the windscreen other than EZ pass and the rear view mirror. Even air fresheners are illegal.

I believe it's the same in California. We are not supposed to "hang" anything from the rearview mirror.

That is correct.

Mine is visible (V-1 is right smack in the middle of my front windshield) am I doing something illegal in the state of Florida?
Hide it. I have a concealed display for my V1 in all 3 of my cars. I no longer using the suction cup mount on the windshield. You can easily see it from outside the vehicle. Someone tried to break into one of my cars by trying to break out the window to get. Fortuanely, they only broke the window and didn't get in. I now use the visor clip turned around backward to clip it onto the back end of the passenger side visor. It still works great (front and rear sensing) in all 3 of my cars, but you can't see it from outside the vehicle. It also makes it very easy to move from car to car. The only time I ever use the suction cup holder is when I am in a Porsche service loaner.

Struggled with detector decision & opted for K40 with laser defuser. V1 with separate defuser wasn't much less than the K40. The K40 is always hidden.

I don't understand why you would deliberately tamper with the aesthetics of a 90 K car by hanging some ugly metal box off the windshield when you could get a system installed that would be compeltely stealth. Someone who claims to have both a K40 and a V1 said he preferred the V1 because it gives "directional" information about the threat. When I pointed out the K40 does as well there was no reply to this observation.

WTF?

Nope, not illegal anymore in CT.

No need for me to worry... I have a full K-40 system installed and only have LED lights to show. Works very very well. Expensive, YES.

Deanski
