Newbie - Current market Question
Greetings all.
I'm Bill, a geologist, management consultant, and licensed paramedic (TX). I'm looking to order a C4S in the next couple of weeks.
I'm seeking info on current market condiions... in other words for a C4S with
Yellow
full leather Cocoa interior
PCCB
Sport Chrono plus
and a few minor things listing to a bit over 102k...
Should I be expecting MSRP or a "typical" discount from MSRP?
By way of background, like many, I've always wanted a 911 and it finally looks like I can get one. I've drooled over the unique Porsche yellow since I first saw it in Singapore about a dozen years ago. My wife loves a cocoa interior but is somewhat put off by the "out there" yellow. When I showed her the brake calipers on the "safer" brakes, she said that the rest may as well be yellow too.
I'm a Canadian that lives in Houston but am currently consulting in The Hague. My last car was an Elise, sold it when I moved to the Netherlands. I need a car when I move back to TX in May. I'll be buying in Houston.

Congrats Bill, Sounds like you will have a nice car, I especially like the color you will be ordering, it is said to have more horsepower than any other color.
If you are not happy with the discount you will get locally, feel free to email or pm me and I will give you my contact info for a good price.

I went in on Friday to negotiate on a C2S, optioned to about $110K. Pretty much got blown off at Porsche of West Houston; wouldn't discount more than $2500 and tried to jack me on my trade. Even though I bought my 987S there last year, they didn't seem like they wanted me as a repeat customer. Haven't tried Momentum yet, so I don't know if they'll deal or not.
Looks like I'll be buying away from home, but let us all know how things go for you.

I have been searching and negotiating for the past six weeks or so and I finally pulled the trigger a couple of days ago. The best I got was a 5% discount on an ordered 4S but I did not want to wait and picked up a 2S for about 8% discount. Let me know if you want the info.
Call Marco at Champion in FL. (954-793-8010) They are the world's largest Porsche Dealer and just gave me a great deal on an 07 C4 plus a great price on my trade. They are used to shipping all over the country and want to move as many as possible by year end. By far the best prices I found. They have about 5 c4s's in stock (only yellow is an S, I think) but they have such a huge allotment they will probably give the best deal on an order. Tell him Kim Agster sent you :-)

Second... I've been to both West Houston and Momentum. I didn't know they were owned by the same company. It is hard to believe. I did not like WH... by comparisson M seemed far more professional. I've talked with Rodger a couple of times over the years (he even got an approval from my wife) and Margaret seems nice too. I'll have to drop him a note including the build I did on the website to start things off.
I will check out some of the others mentioned here too. While I like to buy locally when possible, if the difference is significant, I can be bought. It is nice to have back-up and a good continuing business relationship and I do take that into consideration, so savings would have to be significant. Hopefully they have a May delivery available.
Thanks again...
Bill
