Please, read my response again. Yes, I got a general idea of what invoice was from KBB, Edmunds, and NADA. No, I didn't look for the last penny as to what the hold back was. Again, it is irrelevant the exact dollar the dealer is paying for the car because it comes down to what you can negotiate to buy it for.

Sharptt - invoice is approximately 12% off list, depending on how optioned out the car is. If you can get to 7-9% you've gotten a nice deal.

Hi Chris
RonCT is the master negotiator, not me. I do believe it is possible to do that well but not without a lot of work and some luck.

Guys: MJones nailed it. 15% off MSRP is the option invoice and 12.6% off for base. I bought Cay S at invoice plus and ordered (and cancelled) new C4S same way. Trust is a must! (Of course trust, too, is subject to change, but the above percents were solid from 2004 to this Summer.)

I just purchased my new C2S cab at what the dealer told me was 1$ over invoice. The dealer was/is selling all of the 06 997 models at 1$ over invoice...at least that is what I was told. Not sure what the actual invoice is, but on a cab that was listed at 102K, was sold at about 88K....another cab (which I think is still available) listed at about 98K and it was offered to me at about 86K. A coupe that I missed out on, had a sticker of about 94K and it was offered at about 82K. Hope this is helpful on the approximate prices. Again, these prices were for the remaining 06 models. Not sure what they were willing to discount on the 07's, but the discounts on the 06's were hard to beat. I hated missing out on that C2S coupe, but I don't think I will mind much after I pick up my C2S cab!

I have also seen a 102K S Cab listed on an OPC web site for $94. There is obviously still some profit in that deal for the seller (Stoddard), but $88k would seem to a screaming deal!

You can indeed find terrific deals on left over 2006 models (cabs in particular) if you're not too picky on options.
