Default crease in leather centercap of sport steering wheel

I noticed soon after I got my C4S that there was a small crease in the leather center circle of the sport (round) steering wheel. When I inquired of the dealer, the service people said it's a typical problem, and stems from the underlying air bag. Have you seen this issue on your car?

I am fairly certain there is an old post about this problem.
Don't have it myself,...yet?

I had it on my 987S and I have it on my 997S.
I complained to the dealer on the 987S and they told me that it was for the airbag and there was nothing they could do about it.
I think it's hideous and unacceptable for a 100K car!

Known issue. At least the other wheel (multifunction) seems not to suffer from the same problem. Agree that it looks poor.

Isn't that the seam that tears when the bag goes off? It doesn't bother me. My interior is tan and it doesn't show much. It looks more obvious on the black bag.

It's exactly as shown on the photo. I guess I'll live with it. I agree it's a bit sloppy for a $100k car, but otherwise so far so good....Just put away for winter, loved every minute of last 4200 miles.

I have it on mine. It's shabby on a $90k car. Has anyone got the dealer to replaceunder warranty?

I have it too. At least now I know why. Can live with it but in a 90K car known for engineering excellence, I think they could have "engineered" a more elegant solution for the airbag.

my silly vanity plate attached. Have gotten a few laughs so far...
