Default 997 Facelift - hum bug

Not an improvement if you ask me. Too much detail - busy. Plus, I agree with Lori... why make it look longer?

I like the 997 now for the fact that it seemed to nudge the look back a little toward the 993 - which I thought was just spot on for its visual attributes. The 996 is just unsightly to me... (no offense 996 fans). Too long looking - almost station wagon like. Don't get me started on the tear drop headlights... ugghh.

A prediction, whenever the "facelift" does appear, the owners of the previous model will always find reasons to prefer the older over the newer version.

It' s uncanny how that always seems to be the case!

The rear bumber looks nice. I like how the lower ridge tapers into the corner and the part around the mufflers looks more dynamic. I could take or leave the new tail lights

seems to me like it's lost some of that sexy curvaceousness ... needs a bit of work on its waistline

Not too much difference.

Front wise, it's going to be even more difficult to get out the leaf litter, *** buts, general road debris that gets stuck in the front apron.

I'd be more interested to see how much engine HP goes up by though.

In the US that creates a whole different set of images from the one you intended! I think the vents would have to be a little bigger than you imagine!

Ah the joys of a shared language!

Needless to say no offense is intended.

The rear lights look like cats eyes now. What's with that? I like what I have.

I was thinking the EXACT same thing when I read Ronnie's post. I laughed my a$$ off on that one!

I think those images will end up being pretty accurate. Front bumper cap looks like a cross between the 40th Anniversary 996 and the current Boxster...strange, because the 997 is supposed to be a styling departure from both of those models.

I prefer the current rear; less over-styling and busy (as others have pointed out), and more simple. I've never been a big fan of the 997 taillights and bumper/rear fender cut line, but IMO the new look isn't an improvement.

looks gimicky from the back. Like a Plymouth(?) Cross Fire.

Rear end of the 996 C4S is one of my faves, this would be quiet a step down.

It doesn't matter what they do - mine will always look better...

Now for real - the front grill with the larger intakes is ok - the headlights must be for the Panamara's use (spelling please) but I'n not a fan of those rear lights - too "Meowish" for this dog lover...
