Welcome... I am somewhat new myself. Looks like you ditched your Cayman quickly?

Welcome, I too think those are my favorite wheels. Could you let us know what made you switch from the Cayman to the 911? Also driving differences. We all here the advantages of mid engine etc...
Cheers.

Actually, I absolutely loved the Cayman but upgrading to the 911 was the only way for me to easily get out of my Cayenne Turbo S. So, I traded the Cayenne in because I really was only using it to get furniture and stuff in and out of storage and home depot runs so it didn't make sense to have such an expensive vehicle for that kind of duty. Then I still needed a truck so I traded the Cayman in for a Dodge Ram. Kind of funny but the Dodge dealer gave me $2500 more for the Cayman than the Porsche dealer was going to give me. Plus I got their truck for $7K below invoice. Gotta love end of the model year deals and rebates.

After I brought the truck home I went back to the Dodge dealer to give them the extra Cayman key a few hours later and they had moved one of the Chrysler vehicles off of their showroom floor and had the Cayman parked in there already.

Here are my initial impressions about the differences between the 997 and the Cayman:

First, I notice the extra torque and power. It feels a little quicker off the line but not tremendously. Then I notice that its much easier to get in and out of the vehicle and feels a little less cramped in the cabin. The 997 drives smoother but the steering feel is pretty similiar. However, cornering is not the same and I notice the 997 is twitchier and more sensitive. The Cayman was always so planted and firm in the corners.

Personally, I don't think the 997 is as good a value as a Boxster or Cayman but it is definitely more car. I guess I can live with it.

Not too far off of 280, it's Stevens Creek Reservoir.
