JD Powers is far from perfect, the top luxury hotel company in the world had to drop them after many years of service, for Gallup. (which is also imo, not any better)

I suspect it will continue to get worse as corporate tries to further expand it's brand to the masses. Although I have had no major problems with either of mine, I know too many that have and I, for one, will not be buying another until quality takes a drastic turn for the better.
