If you can meet the above objective they will sell like hot-cakes!
$800-900 would be a pipe dream. But i'd smoke it if you're offering! LOL

I respect your opinion, but if you want to pay more that’s your business. Fabspeed makes a great product at $1,075.00 with free shipping. If you like to pay north of $1,075.00 best of luck.

Yes, of course tips will be included as with all Borla systems.

We'd like to know what you guys think of the tip style? For what it's worth, I find (just my opinion) that the tips posted (intercooled) are aggressive and have an obvious aftermarket look. I have also posted a the thread in the 997 turbo forum regarding the Borla 997TT exhaust you mentioned and there are pictures from the SEMA show of the prototype we did for the TT. The TT has non-intercooled, round, rolled and angle cut tips. It's a bit of a "cleaner" look. The pictures can give you a rough idea but there are many tip styles we can use. I will post more pictures of the 997TT soon.

Maybe we should have more than 1 style available?

I added another picture of the intercooled tips.

Thanks again for all your input.

I'm not sure Craig.

Once we are done with the 997 exhaust we will have to bring in an "S" and perform a check fit/sound test. Will keep you posted.

Thanks,

Default Borla products kick A**

Had a set 20 years ago on my 86 Corvette Indy Pacecar, and by the way they didnt look like figure 3, bur rather like the current S tips, with a thiner side wall. I think that the tips featured on figure 3 are awesome, however I understand the practicality of OEM tip options, Excellent product though, highly recomendeddo I hear group buy?

On the tips - I mentioned earlier I'd prefer plain ones. Think about this David... If there's some performance gain to "intercooled" tips, then perhaps those of us hard-core enthusiast / track junkies can understand the benefit. If, however, there's no performance gain and the tips weigh 2 lbs more combined, then that's a bad thing. Curiously, I liked the solid stainless tips on the BMW OEM exhaust very much - clean and "all business". The enlarged / rolled lip tips just don't do anything for me. I did like the appearance of wider diameter, assuming it had something to do with the sound. But I'd just assume not have "fancy" multi-piece heavy tips when my pursuit is a low-weight performance based exhaust to replace the heavy and quiet OEM.

The tips look awesome. I've always been a fan of the borla sine my e30 m3 and would buy again. I'd say bring on your own sound, as long as it's not too obnoxious.

I love those tips, at least it's something different than the standard round jobs that everyone else offers. I hope this comes to market soon, I would jump on one in a minute. I do agree that offering the tips as an option for those that want to use their stock tips would be good.

David, I would suggest the tips are close to the stock dimensions, the big round tips remind me of a Honda Civic aftermarket product. Thanks for asking our opinions though....

The tips are a nice option but what I really NEED is a set of cans and cats that SOUND exactly like PSE or better... say a nice Cup car... but, unlike PSE cans and cats only weigh 10 lbs. EACH.

I can't add serious horsepower, as RUF won't SC a X51 motor, so all I'm interested in paying for is LESS WEIGHT for the same SOUND.

How about a set of feather light cans and cats with the PSE sound?

haha totally agree, first thing I thought when the R&D team asked me what I wanted it to sound like was "carrera GT". However, figured it was impossible so I just replied with, loud, deep and throaty

johnny,
ruf will sc an x51!
however, since they lower the compression ratio and replace the intake manifiolds the
end result is pretty much the same as putting a kompressor on a regular 3.8 liter engine.

yeah!
the sound of the pagani zonda f cs would be my second choice.
but i imagine boorla would have a tough time making a flat six sound like a v10 or v12
