I'm not sure what the MSRP was on the car.

If I spec it out as a 2007 model it comes up around $85K.

It's still got plenty of warranty and it's basically brand new. I'd take it.

I'd say that's a great price.
Try to push and get some off and see how much they budge.
Sounds like a great car!

Is 2005 a 997? I think it is.

$55k? Geeez that number is so arbitrary you might as well offer him $45K.

The fact that you're asking if a '05 is a 997 lets us know you have no idea what you're talking about.

HAHAHA!!

I have a lot of cars man. That's how I buy them. I've had a couple 997's too.

If you don't agree then don't sell me your car.

Ziege: I've been on the hunt myself...but for an 'S'. There's a couple of those in FL for about $4K more than the ask on your Red one.. I'm always a fan up buying the 'upgrade' model - never new - because you almost always get the upgrade for little or nothing. I'm not concerned whether one is 2mph faster/slower; I like to plan for the 2-3yrs when I get ready to pass it on to someone else. My little, loaded Boxster-S will be a great deal for someone ..if my wife will let me sell it. Red/Black is a great combo. Good hunting.

highly doubtful considering your lack of product knowledge.

Typical Porsche Owners know more about Porsche cars then anyone I've seen.

Having a 'couple of 997's' and not knowing what year they came out. Um, I'm thinking not.

And you're right. I won't sell you ANY car. Cheers.

Have to agree with that. Unless the seller is completely desperate, you run the risk of the negotiations abruptly ending when you offer him 10k below his already competetive asking price. If you really like the car, try doing as elusive stated, push a little to see if it's negotiable and go from there.

I say good price.

But don't buy a color you don't love. There is nothing better than walking up to your car and thinking it is perfect in every way.

Buy it, even at 65K that is a very good price for an '05 997S with only 5,000 on the clock. Negotiating with him may just **** him off since his price seems very fair already.

Price actually seems very low. Two 997 S vehicles have gone through Manheim auctions in the past two weeks for $66K & $65K in below average condition. If they say below average at the auction they are not very clean. I'm not sure you will find a better price on an S with low miles. There is one here in Scottsdale for $60K but it has 30,000 miles on it.

If its not the car/color you want price does not really matter.

Todd,

I live 2 hours from Manheim and I have been there like 50 times. The prices you see there are all wholesale dealer prices. That car at 65K is a wholesale price. Like I said before, It's a great deal. This is a No Brainer, he should buy it or at least someone on this forum should.
