Elusive ... besides the clear markers (and winter garage project) you may want to add changing your avatar to your list. A pic of the upgrade would be nice

Good question - My experiences. (Garage Finishing)
Memphis - cheaper house was drywalled - finished and painted.
Tampa - was bare concrete blocks (no drywall) but was painted.
Tampa2 - house 2x the first house dollars - same block finish.
Seattle - house 2x the tampa2 house $ - unfinished drywall (taped seams) like his.
Dallas - same $ as Seattle house - finished and painted drywall.

(no ryme or reason I can think of)

The obvious question here is the compare on the 987S to the new ride. I would thoroughly enjoy your comments on the switch.

Snickryder - You can drive the car anytime!

DrDrilz - I have no idea why they don't finish the walls, but that is definitely a winter project of mine. I'm going to have to sand it al down and then paint. Should look pretty good after a few days of manual labor.
OT: make sure you lay down a coat of primer first. With the potential for higher heat and humidity in a garage, an initial coat of primer will help ensure that the paint will "bond" well to the walls.

I haven't really had a chance to drive it very much. The temperatures here in Colorado over the past few days have been pretty cold (mid 20's in the AM) and I have pretty much only driven it to and from work yesterday and this morning. My wife and I had our first baby about 4 weeks ago, so that has taken up a majority of our time, thus preventing me from playing with it as much as I normally would.

COMFORT:
As I've stated before on this forum, I was never completely comfortable in the 987S. I'm 6'2" and about 210 pounds and I always had a hard time getting the right seating position. If my wife drove the car and moved the seat I was screwed for awhile until I could get the seat back to a semi-comfortable position. The 997S has WAY more room. In fact, when I first got in it I put the seat all the way back and couldn't even get the clutch in. The power seat option with memory was a requirement on the 997S. This will be a life saver I think. Aside from the comfort of the seating position, the interior feels so similar to the 987S. So many of the parts seem exactly the same. It was a very easy transition. The PCM will take some getting used to.

ENGINE
Powerwise, I could feel the difference in torque immediately. It definitely has more juice when you get on it. I'm trying to properly break in the motor and it only has 80 miles on it right now. I haven't really pushed the car past maybe 4500 RPM...so in this department there is still a lot to be determined. The Boxster felt to me as if it could use more power for the stability of the chasis.
From a sound perspective, the 997S engine is much quiter inside of the cabin that the 987S....but I think that its girthier outside of the cabin. I really enjoyed hearing the engine in the 987S, but I can say that I certainly haven't missed it on the 997S either.

HANDLING
Handling doesn't feel quite as precise as the 987S...but i really haven't pushed it at all yet. I'll experiment more with this one this weekend.

BRAKES
They seem very similar to the 987S

This weekend is supposed to be in the 60's and I'm looking forward to getting a ton of seat time in this beauty. The 997S has more gadgets than my 987S had as well (PASM, Sport Chrono, PCM)...so i'm looking forward to experimenting with those as well.
