My not-yet-in-my-possession 997S has the H&R's which I understand are a good way to reduce the SUV-affect.
Remember if you change rolling radius it will throw off the speedometer and may also mess with other electronics such as traction control and ABS; they are finely tuned to a certain radius.

I'd say that's the way to go.
Hopefully the (technically) current owner of my (!) car won't mind me posting his car but this pic shows the H&R's affect (ignore the Kinesis wheels - the point is the lowering not the wheels).
Not sure how to post pics?

I have no hard data.
Personally I destroyed the handling of an SL500 by putting 19" HRE's on it (the car is designed for 18's - some might say it didn't handle that well in the first place, but I found it suitable for purpose until I messed with the wheels).
Car and Evo magazines (my bibles) hate the larger wheels and they have some good drivers on staff.

Yeah, the HRE's are good wheels, not that light though. Very bling (which I liked at the time).
I'm pretty sensitive to handling (I went from a 355 to the SL500 so I know what good handling feels like) so perhaps the words were a little strong(!)
The ride was more harsh (stiffer, shallower sidewalls) even with the fancy Merc suspension and turn in was less crisp, the whole thing just became a little ponderous, it tramlined more too but that was due to the increase in width (10mm) more than anything else.
Which brings us to "should you increase the width from stock" which is a whole other topic!

Of course I've yet to take delivery of my 997S so bear that in mind (!)
Yup, with the Merc I ended up using the soft setting all of the time and it worked okay, softest setting became the same has hardest with the stock wheels so I did lose the option of going any softer.
You can also look at tires which don't have such a stiff sidewall (Bridgestones are notoriously stiff for example, BF Goodrich are the complete opposite).
I don't know those other wheels you mentioned, sorry.
I do know the HRE's are very good wheels, no question. True multi-piece forged wheels.
