Default 2008 PTM?

Are there plans for the 997 C4 and C4S models to get the PTM system? I assume meaning the same one on the turbo that can apply any range of power to the front or rear axles depending on road conditions as opposed to the viscous set up on the current C4/S that can put down up to 40% to the front axle. Anyone know anything regarding this?

Yes, according to a brief comment on page 82 at the very first paragraph of the October issue of GT PORSCHE magazine "Porsche PTM- Porsche Traction Management - won't be fitted to the 997 C4 until next year"

Lokk s like 2007, maybe classified as 2008 MY?

Dealer mentioned that he thought/had been told that Porsche would fit PTM to awd versions 997.5. He also believed that Porsche were going to bump hp of the 3.8 to around 375 or just under the current X51 figure. No idea as to what might happen to the base Carrera.

As to introduction dates he believed that Porsche was treating the launch as flexible and would move forward or hold off depending on how healthy sales are, much as they're doing with the Cayenne.

He also believed that the spy shots were of 998 mules, and NOT 997.5. Are we putting 2+2 and getting 5 here?

As he recently spent a week at Weissach it's possible he's telling the truth...
