Default Winter package

I found a guy who's willing to sell me a winter wheel/tire package for my '06 C4S. Includes new 18" Carrera III wheels (18x8 front; 18x10 rear), shod with new Pirelli Winter 240s (235 front; 265 rear) and a set of 1" spacers for the rear. Price is $2695.

Two questions:

(1) Will this setup fit the C4S;
(2) Is it a good deal?

Thanks.

For $3200 you can get the Pirelli Winter 240 SnowSports on 19" Carrera S takeoffs from Wheel Enhancement, 235 front, 295 rear, no spacers.

Also keep in mind (if you have TPMS) that you'll want the transmitters for your system to work with these other rims.

About 9 months ago you couldn't give away 997 take offs for some reason (on eBay). Today their prices are on the rise.

I was considering it myself. I have stock 18" wheels that I was going to get winter tires for and buy a set of 19" for summer tires.

For the price I'm seeing, it seems to be a good buy. The prices of take-offs are right around what you would have to spend on getting "expensive" knock-offs". Or am I better off spending more and getting good after markets?

I know the benefits of lighter wheels (unsprung weight) but for the average guy that does only a couple of track days a year, is the price difference worth it. From what I have seen, quality after-market wheels run from $5K-$6K for a set while take-offs run around $1K-$3K.

I've never bought after-market wheels, therefore the stupid questions.

When you do the math (about $300-350 a tire) it makes the wheels seem to be a reasonable deal.
