You have be careful on the private sale. In NJ, you would loose the sales tax credit on a private sale. At 7%, this can amount to several thousand dollars.

Default Done at $89,500

Closing the deal for this car at $89,500. Got a very strong trade on my car so it may be more like $87,500-$88,00 true purchase price and I like the dealership experience so far. Can't wait to pick up the car and post some pics. Thanks to all for the help and advice.

Check Ebay, this is almost the same car and is listed at Invoice with no reserve...

I've found quite a few leftover 2006s at or near invoice...

I called the dealer in Schenectady, NY with the GT Silver car on EBay. $85,800 is the best they would do, period. The EBay car also has 500 miles on it (no big deal I guess, but rather it was less) and the car I'm getting has only 30 miles on it and has the Carrera Sport Wheels which I really like as well as the sport exhaust and sport shifter. Accounting for the strong trade in I'm getting and this equipment, I think my deal is at least equal or better.

BTW - the Schenectady dealer also has a really nicely optioned C4S on Ebay, Basalt Black http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Porsche-911-Carrera-4S-2006-Porsche-Carrera-4S-Blk-Blk-AT-INVOICE-NO-RES_W0QQitemZ290039688188QQihZ019QQcategoryZ10156QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Default Brought it home today!

Got my new GT Silver 997S today! What an awesome car. After having 6 very used 911s over the years it's a thrill to have my first new Porsche. Love the GT Silver and I am very happy with the cocoa interior. Clear signal lenses going on next and I only wish it had the thicker leather sport steering wheel (jeez the stock wheel seems cheesy compared to the one on my '88 944 turbo - I'm assuming the thicker leather wheel must cost a small fortune to order separately if not originally equipped).

Thanks for all the advice on pricing. I will now be studying how to clean and wax it properly and for an inexpensive way to remote mount my V1 radar detector.

Pete

Congratulations! Cocoa goes perfectly with GT Silver. I especially like the second picture down. The angle reveals a depth to the wheel that I didn't know was there.
