At this rate Sven will give us the order code for the 50-59 people and everyone can start ordering. However, we MUST ensure that everyone who says they are "IN" actually orders a unit. To verify this Mods4Cars is going to ask that you FILL IN YOUR USERNAME into the comments field when ordering the product from their website. Then they will look at the list here and check you off. After a couple of days they will post the outstanding people who still need to order to meet the minimum number. Since we are just a couple over 50 it is imperative that everyone who said they will order actually orders or if we fall under 50 the discount gets reduced. If we could get a couple of more people before the deadline that would give us a little breathing room. (We can also add people during the actual order verification phase if we are lucky - the Cayman guys got to do that.)

I'm on the fence. I would consider it more strongly if I knew how my dealer would react, but I haven't had time to call. If I miss out, $80 is a cheap price to pay for piece of mind.

Your dealer isn't even going to know it is there, especially if you place the unit into sleep mode when visiting a dealer it is entirely undetectable unless the dealer starts pulling apart our fuse box and finds where you've connected the unit. Placing a car on a PIWIS device will NOT detect the Remote Key unit. BTW the canbus system is fully redundant but I should let the guys at mods4cars explain that and why it is undetectable. Basically in a nutshell what the unit does is transmit the very same can bus codes that your car would transmit if Porsche allowed you to have the option from the factory. For example to roll the windows down is a unique code transmitted on the can bus. What mods4cars did was capture that code using a Porsche PIWIS machine and then their device simply replays that code at your command. In other words it is all Porsche commands just issued when you want to issue them, not based on what you did or did not buy with your car (for example mirror lowering only with power seats, etc.). I understand if you are on the fence, but I'd recommend talking to the mods4cars guys in detail about it so that you undertand how the unit works and why it can't be detected or why it isn't harmful to your car in any way.

When I went to order the Mods4car module, there's one text box for a coupon or group buy code. I guess that one is to be left blank and our nicknames put in the comments field instead. I'm assuming they'll first charge us the full amount and then give discount refunds once all 50+ has ordered? Is there a deadline for all of us to order?

DO NOT ORDER YET!!! I have to get the Discount Code from Sven to publish here for you to use to place your order. The coupon/group buy code needs to go in that box and your username in the comments field.

I just spoke with Sven on the phone and it looks like I'm all clear, they'll honor the group buy price for me and just give me a refund for the difference. Sorry about that.
