Noticed coolant level around minimum. No obvious drips on garage floor. Added the Porsche mixture. Level dropped again after 100 miles. Noticed small puddle drip from under passenger side front 15 inches back from front bumper;12 inches from fender. 3000 miles.
Took to dealer. Replaced 997-106-624-03 and 997-106-627-03 coolant hoses. No real explanantion for failure. Plenty of body armor around area, so nothing got up in there to cut them.
Does anyone have schematic showing these hoses. X51, so front center radiator . Anyway another reason to continually check all fluids and peak on the floor.
Also repair order said "941 WP" (N/C) What is this? Thanks
sure that was coolant on the floor? and not water from a/c?
It was dripping pink in color; sticky to the touch; and had a nasty taste. Reminds me of an old joke which cannot be repeated here.
Yes, it was most certainly coolant.
Damn must be something in the air! My car was off the road for 24 hours for the same thing!
I got the office no problem but on the way home, before I left, COOLANT LEVEL BELOW MINIMUM or something or other warning came on. I had no coolant mix but got the OK to put some water in the car to travel the 5 miles home. Got home and noticed on the floor of my garage a yellowy greeny substance - coolant - told the OPC. The emergency service picked up my car by a transporter within 30 minutes and delivered a brand new BMW 323i for me to drive.
24 hours its fixed and the car was delivered by transporter. The explanation was that the hoses run below the passenger and drivers side, in my car the hose had come undone at a joint for some reason! The parts did not need replacement and the car is perfect now!
I did do a search and notice in a few forums similar issues. I wonder if there has indeed been a TSB for coolant / hose issues....
