Default Maximizing the front Trunk: What king of luggage?

Hello, I'm about to receive my 997 and do plan to make some long trips I was wondering if anyone have a nice combination of luggage from Porsche that fits the little trunk of the 997...

Porsche do offer a lot of luggage, but on their website they don't tell the correct fitting on their cars...

Any experience?

The latest Porsche accessories print catalogue recommends specific pieces of luggage for the trunk and behind the seats for both the C2 and C4 997. Call any P Dealer parts dept and they can hook you up.

Luggage? As you can see, our luggage goes in the back seat!
Porsche makes various hard cases that fit in the boot space of the 2 and 4 bodies. I think there have been some threads which review the good, the bad, and the ugly of these. I recommend soft luggage for the boot. If you fold the rear seats down, you can fit a back pack underneath each folded down seat and two or three carry-on style roller bags on top of the seats. With the seats folded down, you also have access to the rear window deck which can also take a few soft bags. My wife and I have travelled for an entire week packing in this fashion.

Save yourself a bundle and just use soft luggage.

Couple of extremely nice pieces which come standard with the Carrera GT--in this instance, interior matched in Terracotta leather..I don't know if they are offered separately.

I agree. Get the easy kind with wheels....my wife has a piece similar to this>>>http://www.sharonluggage.com/shoponl...6484&cat=14173
which fit easily in the 997S with room for more.

OT...Dave/Coochas- how did you finally get your add-on spare tire to clear the underside of the hood?... looks like a proper factory set-up

I cut the bottom out of the floor.
Actually, all you need to do is to lean the thing backwards as opposed to the more space-friendly vertical position which works in the 2. Leaning backwards in this way, the tire just snugly comes up against the Das Schild. It is always dead center when I open the boot so I know it's not moving around...and we have some pretty serious potholes here.

Coochas: Where did you get that spare tire cover? And what do you have underneath there? A full-size Carrera Classic? Does anybody else have “spare” tire options that they lug around? Anybody explore run-flat tires? (Sorry that this is going OT.)

I think we were talking about luggage or something...anyhow, this thread shows all you need to know about the emergency tire:
