Not really aren't we talking about maybe 3/10 of a second in the 1/4 mile. That can be made up by the driver easily, or strip 300 pounds from the car lol.

I faced the same decision when I bought my 2005 997S. I loved the Turbo, but the 997 was just better. And in regular driving it seemed just as responsive and fast. I've very happy with my decision. Good luck.

I've driven my 997 4S in the track vs 996 Turbos...and while they are faster in the straights (not by a lot byut enoguh to get ahead), the 997 handles much much better and goes faster in the turns.

Now the 993 yellow Turbo...that has to be tempting. That thing will only go up in price in my opinion.

A good general rule that a fellow rennlister once told me: Always get the newest Porsche that you can afford. Go for the 2005.
They both look fantastic, though.

I agree, the turbo seem high as well.

I've seem this car in person and it looks great. No affiliation just a local dealer check out now and then. The miles are higher but the cars is clean and has some tasteful upgrades- been lowered, exhaust, rear bumperettes painted ...

Get the Turbo and drive it for a few years until Porsche changes the 997 body style, then get the newer 997.
