I currently have the sand beige in my Boxster and with the hot sun it's really nice when I leave the top down, but it gets dirty. I've been looking at some other convertibles with black interiors.
What do people in hot climates think about the black interiors?
Is it too hot? Any regrets?
Thanks!

I have natural grey leather (pretty dark, almost black) and we have some of the hottest weather around, and despite that, not much different than my other cars (top up, usually park in the shade, consider a sun screen as well). I would have no problems buying black/dark interiors again. (Consider window tinting for ir reduction as well).

That was a big factor in my choice of natural brown for the interior. Not so light as to show every mark, and not as hot as a black interior.

Don't get me wrong, I love the black, but if you live in a hot environment you should certainly consider this fact. To do again, I may do the tan interior on black. It's the interior color that makes a difference. I have black interior on my 745Li and it never gets as hot as my 997S cab does. It would probably help if I tinted the windows, though. Also, I haven't been able to find the convertible button for my 745Li.

1) Black shows every spec of lint/dirt on the dash, would drive me nuts.
2) Properly treated light leathers will wear just fine, and show little dirt. Just wipe it down every day or two if it bothers you.
3) Do not leave it top down for long in the sun. Not a good idea for the leather.
4) Treat the leather once or twice a year, Lexol works well as do others.
Enjoy the color you want, not the color demanded by 'shows it' or 'does not show it.'
Just my two cents.

Triple back C2s Cab here in Tampa FL. Yep it's H O T...looking and the temp! I never leave the top down when I am away from the car but ride with the top down and the A/C on! Wife made the choice and would not have it any other way.

From what others said I think a safe conclusion is to make your decision based on the environment you'll have. If your car is always garaged at home or at work, with good window tint to protect in other short term situations, then buy whatever looks best. If some of those don't apply then the black interior will be more of a negative factor.
