Does this thing really produce the 10 hp and tq numbers they say it does. I have put air intakes on vettes for years and noticed a differnce in the 1/4 mile. Most of these intake make extra hp high up in the rev range so it really isnt noticed around town. Does this thing work at all I guess is my question? Has anyone put this on there car on the dyno or taken it to the track?

Go pick up the current issue of Excellence magazine. Althought the question is about the K&N version of a cold air intake Excellence says no these do not work. I looked into this a lot and have learned that the Porsche Carrera intake is already a cold air box and does an awesome job of letting the engine breath. Ruf the famous Porsche tuner uses the stock intake box...does that tell you something?

the stock filter panel is huge, i doubt there is a restriction. i can see the possibility of more air if a hot intake is used but ultimately if air is to come thru a tube, you aren't going to get more air i don't think.
