RETROFIT PCCB + NAV
Is it possible to replace standard brakes with PCCB's? How about Navigation? Current car has both. Thinking of trading for one with neither. Would it be possible to switch the brakes and transfer the nav?
The brakes are extremely complex. It's not just the brakes that need to be switched over. The entire PSM side of things understands that that car has PCCB. Would you know which components would need to be switched within that subgroup? Would it be merely a software change? I suspect navigation would be a lot easier. It's not nearly as embedded in that car as the PCCB is.
There is a TSB on this: 4701 to change to PCCB's part number: 997.044.600.63.
Total time units: 250 Converting brake system to PCCB includes: Remove and install wheels, removing and installing front and rear brake caliper, removing and installing front and rear brake disks, adjusting brake shoes and bleeding brake system. Code version in PSM control unit. WITHOUT: Test drive or testing the brakes on the roller brake tester.
Pepare to spend a whole lot of $$ as after-sales these rotors cost big money!

Deanski

Question:
Is a dealer able to retrofit the navigation module in a 05,997 with sport chrono?
Answer:
The dealer should install it pretty easily. The kit has the DVD reader for the nav disc. Antenna and cables plus the nav disc for the system. The kit retails for about 2600.00 and you will also need a fiber optic cable, there are 8 different cables depending on the option layout and if the car is 4 wheel drive or not. About 3 hours install time and you have nav.
