Mine actually was looking at the Speedo (While I watched the road) when we hit 170+.
There are a few AZ guys in this thread. I am organizing an event/drive for next Sunday (the 17th) to Payson, lunch then drive back. (Via HWY 87).
Here is a link to some our previous event pics. Feel free to PM me if interested.

Luis,

That's awesome! The only time my wife didn't bitch about my driving was a long stretch of highway between Montreal and the US border. We hit about 130 before I backed off but she was great about it. Other then that it's really not fun for her.

It seems to me that for some reason, after women get married, they develop a dislike for speed and loud music.... Any theories? (I'm not implying any sexist remarks here, just an observation.)

It's spot on.

Women are so much smarter than men. They understand that nagging and bitching during the courting stage is instant dropping at the curb.

They reel you in, then their maternal instincts kick in and it's all about keeping you safe.

My wife was never "excited" about speed but now she is downright outspoken when we hit 10mph over the limit... it's all good she keeps me in check.

Agree. I can't really complain much... She's a keeper. (The wife, that is.)

Yup, I wouldn't trade mine for all the speed demon strippers in the world. Well maybe just for an afternoon.

I waited a long time to get married, and my wife was fine with it until alittle over 2 years (my twin boys were born) ago. She is okay in most the the cars except the 997S cab, she always makes me slow doen when we are in that car. Soft tops scare her these days.

Default My wife does't even like to hear about my solo drives

I will never drive fast with her in the car, that's why she drives the Touareg!

I call my Porsche my Hooker, as I find it is only good for pure pleasure. I don't take the wife or kids in it, I can't haul anything in it, but my god is it a fun car to drive!

mildly spirited driving makes her nuts. i wouldn't think of showing her spirited driving such as what happened on the Tri State Meet a couple of weeks ago.

I get the "OK,OK" too.

My wife is used to me driving that way, she tolerates it (barely) but doesn't like it.

I don't really speed, I just like taking turns at 10/10ths.

I usually drive around 75mph and my wife would say "we are not in a hurry, slow down". So 5 years ago, when she was having contraction around 2am in the morning I went 70mph... she doesn't say much about how fast I am going now.

We were driving back from the Porsche Parade in Portland, Oregon and my wife took the wheel on I-5 while I dozed off. She later confessed that she was doing over 100 mph at times. She hadn't driven the Pcar before, but definitely liked the way it drove on the highway.

Rob, this reminded me of a joke I heard yesterday:

A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM ." He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed.

The paper said, "It is 5:00 AM . Wake up."

Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests.
