Default A great deal on a 997S launch car

This was my car:

Just thought I'd let you all know. I have no skin in the game as I traded it in last week, but can tell you it was fantastic, and my favorite porsche on the street.

I picked up the car with 3k on the clock, and since that point, it has been my daily driver. No track time, no abuse.

Do you actually think the price reflects the full value of the "yellow calipers"? I don't.

Curious - what does 'launch car' mean?

All identical cars that PAG imported for US sales at the launch of the 997 chassis. All had a sticker just above 99k, Black on black, full leather, PCCBs, nav, bose, adaptives, autodim, some other stuff I'm forgetting.

Seems like a good deal. Might be interested. Couple of questions:

- Any 3M bra?

- Any out of scheduled maintenance?

- What do you think the dealership will take, based on what you traded them - please PM me offline if you could.

Congratulations on the Ferrari!

I saw that too. No mention of Carbon/Ceramic rotors, just "yellow calipers". You'd think a F-car dealer would know the value of PCCB and highlight that in their sales effort... You'd think.

It has PCCBs. It's a launch car; run the VIN.

The ferrari dealers knows nothing of Porsches. They simply took my car in trade to sell me my new car; they paid me the same amount the local porsche dealer was going to pay for my car.

You should be able to pick it up b/t 67k and 69k.

I've posted this only as a service to rennlist.

FWIW, I lost my *** on the car. Stickered at 99k, bought it with 3k on clock for 85k, and huge loss 9 months later. But I got the Ferrari bug and the perfect car was just brought to the dealer, strangely enough owned by a friend of a friend. Jumped on it; probably should have sold it outright but couldn't wait.

Frankly was shocked to see that they listed it at 69.9. They should have it up for 75k.

That is all.

Nice of you to post this info. From a cost standpoint, can the composite brakes be replaced with standard brakes? Do the composite brakes have a long life? Thanks.

Why would you want to replace the PCCB?
They have a decent life, not too far off especially if you get longer lasting pads later.

Sorry, dumb question. What I was trying to determine was if maintenance on these type of brakes is more frequent, and more expensive than standard brakes.
