Default turn off service due message

Took a quick tour of the manual and didn't see how to turn off the Service Due in XX Days message. Any suggestions?

fyi - Car was serviced at 8500 miles (14 months old) and is now 6 mos later at 13500. No service should be due.

thanks

Just had mine turned off at my local dealer. No charge, in and out in 10 minutes...

Reviving this old thread.

I'm wondering if anyone has found a DIY fix for this by now? My car - 2005 997.1 - has 49,000 miles on it, and it's annoyingly telling me my next service is coming up in 1000 miles every time I start the car. I called my dealer and I was told that I would need to provide "PROOF" that I performed the service because of liability issues (how does one prove that he's done something tomorrow?). Honestly, I love these cars but the dealer service departments???? Sheesh. And, from what I can see the recommended services for this car are at 40K and 60K. Something's not adding up. I hope I can figure out how to turn this "feature" off.

You need to buy a tool that resets these warnings and then you don’t have to deal with it. I use the iCarsoft POR V2. It’s really simple to use.

you can do an instrument cluster reset via durametric pro/foxwell530. the module i believe was "instrument cluster". i dont think this was in the coding settings, so other scan tools may work.

the setting was dead obvious once in the module menu. this will work for 2005MY cars.

the foxwell would be the best value/dollar tool today as the durmatric pro design is easily a decade old now if not even older.

for 2006+ cars, the instrument cluster reset + fuse pull (for 30 secs) will be needed.

I use a Durametric Pro to reset the "Service Now" warning. The Enthusiast model is less expensive and will still work.

I also use iCarsoft PorII to reset service light. It also work on many other Porsche models like the Macan and Cayenne. I will let you service the rear electric brake on the Macan and other good stuffs. Get one for around $200.

Great find! What else do you do with it? They claim ABS bleed.

ADias , I have used it to scan for codes and turn off service notice after doing my own oil changes but I have not used it to bleed brakes

Ph997 - Where are you located? Maybe somebody nearby with a tool can meet up with you and do the reset.

I'm in south-east Charlotte and would gladly share my Durametric Pro.

I use the same one on both my Porsche 997.2 4S Cab and 970 Panamera 4S. Great little computer for resetting oil and service light warnings.

I recently got a iCarsoft CR-Max and was able to reset the Service Now message on my 2008 997.1. Took about a week for me to figure it out…had to select 2007 as my model year instead of the correct 2008.
