I drove a C4 with it, and what I liked was that it felt heavy and solid in my hand. I remember the saleman commenting that it can be ordered from Porsche.
I believe this is it, but it comes with the E brake in this kit.

What does the one you are thinking of look like? Let us know what you come up with. That was the only one I could find.

Bingo! That's the one!!! Feels solid in your hand for sure! I wonder if it's as simple as unscrewing the old shifter and screwing this one on?

That is badass! Okay, what can we buy it for. Please don't say $800. I'm going to check around to see if it can be had cheaper.

I'm sure you can find aftermarket ones, this unit is nice because it looks stock. It's also quite solid. Anyone know if the **** simply unscrews or is there more to it than that?

The price is steep, but what's $800 bucks, when we're talking about a $100k car.

Thanks. I'm still wondering if anyone knows whether it's just a screw-on/off **** or there is more to it than that. I agree it's pricey, but having driven a C4 with this shifter it's definitely worth it.

Was the install simply a matter of unscrewing the old ****, and screwing on the tech art piece?

You can remove the shifter by turning the **** 90° CCW.
Pull the base of the boot out of the console and then pull the shifter **** upwards.
No tools required.

If ordered afterwards, the price for that X97 shifter is over 1000 Euro ! ($1280)
