Not too many waxes are "white carnuba". What you should use is Plexus or other clear sealants if protection is needed. Always, Always Always check with the installer as to care and cleaning of clear films.

I too have film on my black C2S and will ALWAYS put film on a high-end car. It's cheap insurance and by the way, after wacking the lower lip of the Aero that is also filmed, it looked bad. Peel off the film and all that was left was a very easy to correct blemish. With the film off now, the lip looks worse each day! I just broke down and purchased a new lip, but the GT3 one as it's matte black, easy to order. If I did the one that's on the car now, it only comes primed, so then has to be painted. If I get a new one, I'll save it for shows.

I too wish Premier was on the East Coast!! Come on guys what are you waiting for? Open an East Coast shop!

Deanski, try the plaxus on the clear bra today. Works very good. Do I need to seal it with some kind of sealant like Kleen sealant? Or just apply plaxus on it very time we wash the car?

Thanks, Deanski. I'll try plaxus next. Sam at Premier was the one who warned me about the wax with yellow dye. They actually tested some clear bar which turned yellow and found yellow dye on it. It could only have come from the wax. So he told me not to use any wax that looks yellow.

Really no need to use a sealant on films. Just use the Plexus to keep it clean. Some sealants offer protection and ease of washing, but it's a dual-edge sword.

You could use a QD, but it removes any Plexus applied. Plexus is more of a cleaner for the most part. In any event, always check with whomever installed the film to make sure there are no issues using a cleaner.

If it gets scratched, well, it's next to impossible to remove them on the newer softer films.

In fact, you will notice that when the film is warm/hot, a micro-fiber cloth will lint on the film. It's almost like flypaper! Once cool though, no more MF linting.

FIlms are soft, so be very careful in use of towels or other items touching it to avoid any scratches or marring.

Enjoy the film! I even have some in the door cups (fingernail scratches) protection.

Regards,
Deanski

Default Premier Rocks...

FWIW...We traded our Boxster in on an '06 997 back in April (the Boxster had come to be known around the house as he "POS" as it had a recurring problem with a voltage leak = dead battery). After it had been in the shop more from Nov - Apr than in our driveway, it was time to go.

I had read about Sam and his team on this site and found him to be very easy going and very helpful. I had a long list of questions based on my ignorance on the whole clear bra concept. He must have priced about 5 different options for us as well (we ended up with 48" hood with fender wraps as well).

One interesting thing...The dealership (Stevens Creek) offered to have "their guy" install a clear bra. When I asked if they used the precut the service guy said "no, he just uses a razor to cut it on the car". See the PM website for some examples of what damage that can do!

Needless to say, I think PM does a great job and we're absolutely satisfied customers. I think it was money well spent...

IMHO...

Deanski, thanks for your info. Another question for your if I may. I drove the car to work and parking it outside under the sun all day after I applied the Plaxus last night, it form a thin layer of film on the clear bra (3M film). Most interesting it I got Venture on the fenders, they are fine. When I try to wipe on it, it seem it is a leyer of mosture with dirt. Am I not puting the Plaxus on correctly?? I spray, wipe, and buff. May be I spray too much???

Great looking car and beautiful install. I'm gonna go with the same treatment as soon as my new toy arrives later this year. Sam and co. definitely does great work.

Thanks again for the comments. Needless to say, you already know the quality of Premier's work.

I plan to zaino the car and then take it out for a photoshoot later in the week. I might try rejex on the bra as well since I've been hearing good things about it.
