Thanks for being a guinea pig. Hopefully no harm no foul was the result.

Here's what the '05 Manual says:

I hope you don't think Porsche is saying that sediment in the gas is on the bottom of the tank. Porsche's concern is most likely attributed to pump cavitation along with mis-firing the engine due to fuel starvation from a low tank. I can agree with that reasoning but not to sediment in the tank theory.

Smile, wink and believe what you want but the reality is that the fuel pump sucks gas from the bottom of the tank.

Our goal here at Renn is to get you to cease the deplorable tactic of running your innocent (fill in the blank) down to the fumes in the bottom of the tank. If we have achieved this end, no matter how convoluted our thinking, I , for one, will sleep better tonight. Bye.

I have never run out of gas in my life. My wife did and that was the reason for the divorce.

And in any case a 911 (even the 997) prefers a full tank to assist weight distribution, so another good reason not to run too low!

Thanks... it will prevent me from being the Penguin that gets hit behind the head.

Well, considering the rate that gas prices are going up around here, it probably makes sense to stop in and top off each day... it's good for weight and balance, and it allows you to maintain a hedge against higher prices... <g>

The most accurate was my NSX and my old E39 M5. I did the calculations based on miles left and mpg readings and they were spot on.
OT: What year was your NSX? What did you think of it?
