I think the RS4 is a great car; I considered it as a more user friendly substitute for my C2S.
I would've got it if it were the size of the A6 series. It is unfortunate manufacturers cutting out options for the US market vs ROW. Like the LSD in the 997S, leave it as an option, esp for custom cars on euro delivery. I mean how many 997 out there are on the track? Sometimes I gotta wonder about Porsche/Audi/VW. I suppose it is a problem selling products in the litigious US but still.

Don't forget about the start button. We get cupholders instead. What a great car. Hey eggplant the RS6 is what you need, it'll come, and be a monster.

I tried the last RS6... didn't like it. Plus I just got the new M5... so I don't think I'm in the market just yet.

Here are a few shots. I put almost 1500 miles on mine last week, very comfortable, no need to shift out of 6th to pass, great stereo, a/c handled +100F temps easily. And the cupholders are still terrific

Exactly! Wait a minute...what about a CPO Cayenne Turbo as an alternative to the Audi? At about the same price point you could pick up a 2005 CTT with very low miles! The S4 is a nice car (and fast), but there is something to be said for extending your Porsche family!

I just drove an 06 Base Cayenne, a loaner while my 997 S was being repaired and I was singularly underwhelmed... It was a lumbering tank..Sorry I didn't have an S or Turbo to try.
My 06 Lexus 400H was a much more responsive and luxurious vehicle, as well as more comfortable!
So much for the extended Porsche Family, to which I have been favouring for 35 years, in 911's
My $.02.

I couldn't agree more... and on that note- my 05 CTT is for sale and you can come over to Germany, take delivery from me, tour around Europe and I'll pay to ship it back.

larrytrk -
I had the same experience. I brought my car in for service and was given a base Cayenne. It was absolutely aweful. Our Lexus RX330 is a much nicer vehicle and $13K less...and I personally am not a big Lexux fan. My wife loves the car. I surely hope that the S or TT are much nicer inside and out than the base car because this lifetime Porsche fan was very unimpressed.

Another 997 and S4 owner here (2005 Avant 6MT). Would love an RS4 Avant if it ever makes its way over here...

Porsche's and Audi's just go so well together.
Man I wish I had the Audi steering wheel in my P-car. It's the best wheel ever.
The RS4 is really a nice looking car. Congrats!

Just got her a new MB E320 CDI; the S4 has been my daily driver primarily, however it's up for sale and I'll be driving the 997. Narrowing the stable down to two cars to make room for a track car.
