Default Cold air intake mod any negative effect on engine?

Since I just bought a new 997s amd added a cold air box by evo. i was wondering if any chance that it could hurt the engine? since if any engine problems that may occurr it would void my warranty. i am not so mechanical and just wondered thanks.

No, it can not harm the engine in any way.

I had mine installed by my dealer along w/ GIAC flash. According to my dealer, it will not void my warranty. However, not all dealers are the same....IMO it depends on what kind of relationship you have w/ them.
Other than that, I have not had any issues whatsoever.

If something happen to the car, switch the air intake back to stock and than call the dealer.

I know the experts have already weigh in here, but because I have first-hand experience with water ingestation in a high performance engine with an aftermarket intake; just want to add the following answer to your question.

It may be unlikely, but it is most certainly possible!

It won't hurt the engine besides sucking in hot air and coating the MAF with oil and DIRT. JUNK

Been running a EVO Intake for over a year-always pour water over the deck lid when washing.....no issues.....even in a heavy rain....

I second jj - I have had my Evo intake for about a year and no issues with rain and car-washing.

OK, no issues, that's good. But did you get any performance enhancement from the cold air intake?
