The current documentation shows the cd changer disabled, but awaiting final word from tech folks Monday on the install details, then we'll have it up and ready to order.

Based on the info at Dension (http://www.dension.com/icelinkgateway500.php) it seems like that is the correct unit for our cars. The description says the CD changer remains operational...

Actually I think Eric's website has the proper info in that it is the Dension USA DICE unit, not the Dension Ice Link 500.

Interested, but with a few questions, first. Will it work with the integrated PCM satellite radio install (i.e. installed, aftermarket, using Cayenne parts)? Also, will playlist/song controls/information be fully integrated with PCM, too? Is installation easily handled in the comfort of one's own garage, or does it require a trip to a Porsche tech for programming, PIWIS, etc? Finally, what will the price be?

Eric's post on another forum site has the link (http://bumperplugs.com/DensionGroupBuy.html), but he said to disregard the pricing and ordering info.

Talked to my installer. He also got an email from the company (showed it to me) - it said that testing to be complete by the end of August- followed by general release.
Quoted price on email was $599/unit. Installation not included in that price, of course.

More details coming regularly....

List price is $599 (group buy price will be less!)
Cradle will accept Nano
Cable will accept most iPod models
The dension.com site showing the other unit is Euro, NOT a US model
CD Changer will be disabled
Video not yet able to display on screen for video iPods, but apparently upgradable
First units are for NAV only cars. PCM without NAV is a non-nav car for this purpose.
Non Nav cars will have similar product release in about 30 days
Pro Install recommended, fiber optic stuff may be tricky
Beta Testing for units will be THIS week (8/1/06)
We anticipate in house inventory within two weeks of beta test.
Order site will go live on 8/1 for deposits for group buy

Thanks.
