Default PIC Request! 997 C4S (Cab preferred) w/ nice wheels

I am in the process of selling my SL55 and thinking of picking up a C4S Cab to replace it with.. However, I Looooove the styling the SL and feel almost like the stock C4S is a step down in terms of looks (I know it drives completely differently and i'm hooked on that aspect!). I'm going to put on some aftermarket wheels (iforged) and plan on maybe some springs or the Sports package (for the 20mm lowering effect).. However, i'd like to see what the final result will look like.

Does anyone have pics of a C4S cab w/ aftermarket wheels?

I am getting a black (of course!)

Thanks ahead!

I'm biased, but to me it doesn't get much better than this:

And yes, I know they aren't aftermarket.

Hah.. yea, i LOVE the wheels you have Ron.. but aftermarket wheels are my soft spot, it seems every car I get has to have a set of aftermarket rims. Down here in LA it also sets the car apart from the ten dozen other 997's driving around..

kilikay, have to disagree with you. I live in Hollywood too and am very familiar with the aftermarket wheel variations we see on a daily basis. But must point out, the only wheels that should be changed are the wheels that "need" to be changed.
I would never consider changing the wheels on my 993 C2S despite how many other people have them. They are amazing looking wheels. If they were ugly "off with them I say" but if there great wheels to begin with "don't bite your nose to spite your face" enjoy the great looking stock wheels and get some rhino plasty.. lol..

you know what he should do?
Factory turbo wheels, with the painted black - they're painted black inside, polished on the front face...

I appreciate your opinion.. I would've agreed previously, as I used to think Porsche put on the perfect wheels on all their vehicles, but after seeing a 997 C2S on HRE's the other day driving by I changed my mind completely. AFtermarket wheels just fill out the wells that much better.

However, this is all off topic... I'm just looking for pics, hopefully on a cab model because the lines are so different than the coupe.. Maybe you can help me out?

Go to www.wheelenhancement.com - they have a pretty good gallery for each of their wheels.

The Kinesis F110 have an awesome lip and look really good on the 997, even though it isn't traditionally the kind of wheel I prefer (I'm baised towards 5 spokes). Here's a pic:

(If the pic doesn't show up, then just go to the link above or click here - http://www.wheelenhancement.com/Images/F110_ow.jpg)

oof, please spare your forthcoming 997 the indignity of iForged wheels. That company makes the worst-looking wheel centers of any manufacturer. They just don't seem to know how to handle the bolt area. See HRE a well-designed hub area.

That said, the only thing I'd put on my car would be Champion, Kinesis, Fikse, or BBS (all historically Porsche specialists).

Ok.. 19's look a little small when you add a lip to it.. The stocks look much better in that size. I guess the only thing to do when going aftermarket is to go w/ a 20".. But ride and handling decrease along i'm assuming..
ANyone here have any experience putting on 20's?

Unless you are building a garage queen, there's no way in hell that I would recommend going with 20" rims. In fact, personally I think you give up a lot of comfort and even some high speed stability on rough surfaces with the 19" rims.

After living with my car for nearly 6 months and 4000 miles, if I were in the market I'd go with 18"'s because you sacrafice a lot with that lack of sidewall.

I'm not the only one who thinks this either. The Porsche Driving Experience uses 18" wheels and if you go to Dave (Coochas) web site and look at his video and print reviews, you'll see reviewers saying they prefer the 18" as well.

I also have a high speed sweeper off the freeway by my house where the pavement wasn't done very well and with my 19" rims if I put PASM into Sport more (stiffer suspension) I can't travel faster than 55 mph on it before I start to drift dangerously close to the wall (which is the same thing that happens in my friends RS America). However, if I turn off PASM I can do 62, yet in my Mercedes I can do it at 75 and feel comfortable and its a freakin stock E320!!!! How can this be? It all has to do with sidewall depth and the ability of the tires to absorb the rough pavement before it gets to the suspension. Had I not experienced this first hand myself, I would have never believed it and thought that it was just poor driving, but I've repeated this over and over (and did it in my friend's RS America with racing suspension and a former Porsche instructor) to prove my theory.

If you watch the asian guys review the C2 and C2S on the track against the Ferrari 360, Nissan Fairlady, and others, you'll see they say the same thing. They clearly think the 18" tires offer better driving stability which results in better track times. This is also proven by how close the C2 comes to beating the C2S on the track, even though the C2s is equipped with a better driver (the father of the C2 driver) and more hp.

If your car is about being a show piece and not something worth driving, then get the 20". If you plan to drive it, especially if it is going to be anywhere near the limit, then go with the 19"s AT MOST.
