Have the dealer contact PCNA with your VIN#, which then PCNA will "release" the tires from Tire Rack who has them warehoused for this. General public cannot order the RE050A's (N0) type from most anyone as PCNA has requested from Bridgestone to hold a specific allocation of tires.

Make sure the dealer knows that they HAVE to call PCNA to obtain the tires. Even if a dealer calls Tire Rack directly, they still will not release them. It has to come from PCNA, then the tires will be shipped.

That's odd, I got them just a few weeks ago prior to the ALMS race at Lime Rock.

Well, it may be just timing as Wheel Enhancements also had 2 pairs, but were gone in no time.

Sorry you didn't get the RE050A's and had to pay bigger $$ for the PS/2's.

This whole tire issue (scam) with Porsche and Tire Rack is just a bunch of BS!

Then how does a dealer get the tires which show "backordered" directly from TR? They informed me that yes, they do call or IM PCNA with a VIN which then get's the tires.

Ask your dealer about what happened to Conti's!

Deanski, the problem is with any of the N spec Porsche approved tires you seem to have to get them from your Porsche dealer via Tire Rack. Local Michelin and Bridgestone or Pirelli tire stores can not get these tires. I know I tried last year. Tire Rack advertises a price for these tires and the Porsche dealer marks the tires up from there! Or they will sell you the tires for the Tire Rack price but jack up mounting and balancing so much your jaw will drop. THAT is the problem! A person that is good with negotiating can not shop for a better price...this is America ya know...so that is one reason I call it a scam between Porsche and Tire Rack.

Ah I see...

Maybe that's why FBL and others go with some of the Yokohamas.

I guess "N" means "Not gonna get them.

my completely stock 993 C4S gets enough points to run in N Production!
That's two classes higher than Stock!

2 points for increased track over stock. Stock = standard C2
2 points for stock supplied 285 size rear tires, not even considering treadwear
2 points for big reds
2 points for LSD
1 point for aerodynamic aids................. yeah, that turbo front bumper is a HUGE advantage @ AX speeds

i get away with running NS because if i use my 996 TT wheels, that decreases my track width and subsequent penalty to only 1 point.
sheesh.

oh yeah, thread relevant comment. i have a set of REO50s on a set of street wheels. only ~ 300 miles so no opinion yet.

be safe
