Cool new color combo
I was at my local Porsche dealership (Barrier Motors) today and saw an unusual combo that looked awesome.
It was a regular Carrera cab with the Maroon looking exterior with Cocoa Natural Leather (and supple leather seats) and the Makassar wood interior treatments. It looked VERY good together and was actually something I'd consider owning myself. I've never been impressed with the wood or the maroon color (but my wife loves it) and Cocoa has always disappointed me in real life, but in this combo they all looked great together. It looked like it should have belonged to British Royalty. It was truly first class!
Sadly I didn't have my camera and didn't think to use my phone (they would have sucked anyway), but if anyone has thought about this combo I can tell you that you'll be VERY pleased. It looks awesome in real life. I don't suspect it would photo well though.

I drove a Cayman S (in Speed Yellow) for the first time while I was there today. My car was in for a tech inspection for a local driving school I'm going to in August, so I decided to kill some time by driving a Cayman. Nice car and definitely very well balanced, so I see some of what the fuss is about. However, I still think my car would beat the crap out of it at the track because it just doesn't feel like it has a beast under the hood like my car feels. I'll find out in August though as plenty of Caymans will be there.

No, it doesn't - and it will not compete with the 911 in a straight line. HOWEVER, it is still very quick and fun to drive, and a good driver WILL compete with a 911 on the track. I would have considered one a) if had a back seat (pregnant wife), and b) had a little more oomph, because it's significant savings over the 911.
