This being said, Ben - are the paint-to-sample cars painted on a robotic line? I would assume that the color change-over for a single vehicle would be the largest part of the additional cost...

$4315 for the paint to sample.. But don't forget to add the rocker panels, that's another $750
$5062 --
And for the record.. I think that green looks pretty damned good, especially with those black powdercoat wheels.
I could never buy a car in that color but I do admire it..

Not only is the cost covering setup costs (cleaning out the nozzles thoroughly after each color run) but a good chunk of it is probably due to processing costs: taking your sample and computer decoding it for you and sending a color swatch for your approval - for several iterations maybe - (Dan should be able to fill us in on this), or taking an existing color code and confirming the choice again. Then there's the special handling that comes from processing your car on the assembly line and setting it aside for its special color.
So the actual cost of the paint is negligible, since any color can essentially be dialed up and every car that is built will have paint of some sort.....unless your name happens to be Delorean.

Is that the actual sticker for that car or another car? There is NO aero kit charge which if installed after the fact would suck trying to paint match!
