Porsche special editions never seem to hold their value like they should.

Priced a 356 Carrera lately? How about a 911RS? Or an '89 or '94 Speedster? True special editions certainly do hold their value, and in time will actually appreciate.

Special paint with bundled option packages are just that...special paint with bundled option packages, which may or may not appeal to a used buyer...so there's no reason why they should hold their value any better.

I know of one with the factory aero kit that lives in a bubble garage in an auto showroom. It still has the six delivery miles on the odo. In contrast to opinions already expressed, I expect the CCs to hold their value somewhat better than other 997S's with X-51. But if no one ever sells theirs, I guess we'll never know.

A car kept in a bubble is an entirely different situation, and certainly can't be compared to a regular Carrera S with X51 that is used, however infrequently.

If no one ever sells theirs, then I belive they would be "priceless".

this is interesting thread. the club coupes should be at least what the pricing of all the parts are at the minimum, that they were a "deal" at 99,911 plus options is of no consequence. I understand that Rueben Ledesma incoming pca treasurer and Tom Bobbitt the outgoing president of pca (or his son) both bought them on the open market from lottery winners. i have to agree with John and Paul i prefer to keep mine, #50 (yeah yeah the one they gave away) hmm does that mean mine is worth less cause everyone knows i paid zip for it? or do i just ask for the amount of the taxes?

I would probable be smarter just ordering a Turbo in Azzuro Cal and calling it a day. I hate it when people get unrealistic about the value of something. At the end of the day, it's a car and it's worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It has little intrinisc value other than to say it's one of 50 of a group. It's certainley not the last 50 Carrera's, Turbo or not to be made in that color.

Clif: Yours is even rarer. How often does Porsche AG give a $100k car away? I won a cake in a cakewalk about 60 years ago.

Tom Bobbitt told me personally at this year's 12hrs of Sebring that he won a spot for his Club Coupe through the lottery. How he got the car is irrelevant though, I think. His has a nice, subtle 'Club Coupe' decal on the rockers; I would definitely go in on something like that in 'Carrera' for my 997. Throwback, just like the lobster forks

Yes and yes.

That, clearly, is the most logical thing to do

Default How about $150K

Just came across a Club Coupe listed in the PCA Mart for $150K, 2800 miles.

I was unhappy that I Did not win or was not in the running for one of the club coupes, howeve,r I am extremely happy with my Seal Grey 997S anyway. But after 35 years in PCA I am still jealous of you Cliff!!
