Default Air intake below spoiler - question

So this maybe a silly question, but I noticed the air intake just below the spoiler. I realize that the louvers deflect most of the water away from that intake when driving in the rain, but is there any concern (or should there be) with water getting in there when washing the car? Suppose water does get in there, is it a problem?

Again, it's probably a silly question, or maybe it's designed to take this into account. But I'm curious. Thanks.

It is fair to assume that the car was designed in such a manner as to allow washing and driving in the rain without there being a problem.
