Dan,
I have to clarify my last post. The pic that really did it for me is the last one you posted from Berg Nanstein. BEAUTIFUL!!!

I still hate you dan ;-)

Awesome car, and awesome place. I drove down to Neuschwanstein on New Year's day 2002. I was so hung over I could barely make it. Got lost a bunch of times, and it was freaking wicked, bitter *** cold. THe castle was closed and a damn near died trying to walk up that icy hill to the castle in some sort of dress shoes. Such a magnificent place. And man your car is truly stunning.

Didn't know you'd be in my neck of the woods! Would've loved to have seen your car in person. Nice pictures nonetheless. Burg Nanstein is 5 minutes from my house. Assuming the cluster-#*&^ of lights in Landstuhl are green.

Dan - the car is sweet. I really love the color. I like Riviera Blue but its a little light, I like Mexico Blue too - and I keep thinking the next 911, whenever that is, should be in that color range. But I like your Turquoise Blue best of all.

Countryside looks great too. Its been way too long since I drove through that territory including Neuschwanstein and I'd like to do it again - maybe a Euro delivery in my future?

I recognize the area too. We stopped by Neuschwanstein, rode the cable car up and then rode the trolly down from the Zugspitz, then turned south and looped through Switzerland and Austria, stopping for a few days in Salzburg. This was 1999 and we didn't have a Porsche (just a cheap rental), but I'm looking forward to doing it again someday in our p-car.

I think we covered a little more ground than you, however - we started in Edinburgh and went as far north as the northern tip of Loch Ness, down to Salzburg, and back up to London in the same 3-week trip.

I have to say this is truly the way to enjoy the Porsche automobile. European delivery. I found that without really pushing the miles daily that it took me about 11 days to get to the broken in stage on the engine. Several places I stayed a couple of days but most were overnighters. (This shot was in the secure controlled camera-monitored garage in Cernobbio--Villa D'Este). I was quite lucky to get picture-perfect weather so the pictures came out well (Nikon D2X and mostly with the rare 13mm f/5.6 AIS Nikkor lens) but the shots don't really reveal the true weather,--95 degrees with 95% humidity,--not cabrio top-down weather except at night.

Nice to see the Porsche in your avatar where for so long you had a blue square. It's like the Porsche was there all the time and now it's been liberated.

Reminds me of a quote attributed to Michaelangelo where he talks of liberating a statue from a piece of marble: " I saw the angel in the marble and carved until I set him free."

Or (on a more pedestrian note) the lines from the great 80's song by Joe Walsh:

"Inside the silence is a symphony
Every note there is in every key
The music tells me how it wants to be
I help it write itself down
I hear the way that would sound"

----The Radio Song
