Hey Johnny, speaking of which, who's the chick in your avatar? She's really hot! Is that Wanda in Montreal? ... Have you made it yet? ... To her place, that is.

Thanks for the pics.
Hi Frino:
I did not use any bungies for the spare. With the C4S's smaller boot, the spare leans backward. As it is an inflatable spare, it has some play in terms of compressibility and it nicely seats against the hood when closed. I put Das Schild in just for a little extra protection. The spare doesn't change place at all even with hard cornering,...it's in the exact same position whenever I open the boot (or is it, Das Boot?).

If your car is a 2-series, the spare tire can be placed in the boot completely upright. MMD made a post recently in which he used a bracket to secure the tire in place for his 2S.

Got your PM and I'll send along the winter tire info later.

As for the extra weight up front, I haven't noticed a difference in handling. Certainly if you were going to track the car, you'd want to remove the spare.

Have to admit that I'm starting to regret not looking harder for a launch 977 tt... after reading about the launch car that mastiffdog found. Damn.
Glad to know you're a cat person.
Now for the rest of you, I do not discriminate,...dogs are OK too.

As for the launch TT, I hear ya,...but it's still a few years away for me. Yesterday I went to see Alfie at Ira to see their Carmon Red TT,...WOW - what a beauty.

I missed the conclusion of the spare tire thread - what spare did you finally decide on? Looks like it fits well... any issues with it clearing the Nav DVD housing?

Does the car handle any different with the extra 25+ lbs up front?

TIA,

-don
The details of my emergency wheel are here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...mergency+wheel
Interestingly, the recommended C4S spare has a slightly different part number than the 2S spare,...in pics, they look identical, and Jeff from Sunset wasn't sure if there was any difference between the two.

Tried to get to Montreal for the GP... but they wanted $2600 for two stop flights that were half economy section. I will get to Wanda's though.

As for the avatar, that's Vika AC as photographed by Pasha and found on Met Art. I dated a woman that hot once... I believe that she's still in therapy over the experience.

Well it sound like the Das Shield is something that one should get, so the next question is from where?

Thanks for the link, now that the smart top is installed, that will be the next 'project'. Does it offer any sound insulation?

I have Das Shild but haven't gotten the car back yet to install it. I suspect, too, I may need to modify it a little to accommodate the way my Colgan bra is secured (two small hooks on a couple of rear slots on the hood).

OT - Don's cat adventure from Monday (for Dave & Johnny mostly),
I've been feeding an outdoor cat for a while now.
He's very brave and very sweet and after two years I decided to bring him "in".
He rubs up against me, gives me "kisses", and head butts when I go out
back to see/feed him.
This morning I tried to grab him and get him into a cat carrier for a
10:00 vet appt. for tests, worming, de-flea-ing, etc.
Here's what happened ...........................
It only cost me $60. For MY injuries.
The $60 was for a doctor visit for a Tetanus shot, antibiotics, 6 bandages
for both my hands, peroxide, tincture of methiolate, and triple antibiotic cream.
200 pound big brain humanoid definitely lost the "fight" in one quick
round to the 10 pound little brain feline.
Sampson (the victor) still lives (happily) outside and I am swallowing
human-thumb-size antibiotic pills and nursing my wounds inside.

Hi Don...
Price of antibiotics and doctor visit - $60
Price of a cat's affection - priceless!

Thank you for taking care of Sampson!
