I've created a new post with boat loads of pics that show stuff that the directions don't show so well:

Based on Ronmarts description, it looks like it will take much more time than 5 minutes, I cannot see how it can be done that fast?

That's an exaggeration. If you've done it ten times, you may be able to do it in five, but for first timers--no way. Fifteen minutes and you'll be through it. The instructions are good along with the photos published on this thread and you're good to go. I spent more time reading the directions than performing the job.

Today I helped install the 996 module in my friend's 996. I was able to install same without lifting the carpet all the way back as alluded to in my tips. So, strike that. The carpet was more plyable than I expected.

Yep, I showed that in my pics (see the link in my sig). You just need to throw a shoulder in the way to keep it from falling forward and you can work with it quite easily.

What is their usual time frame from ordering to shipping? Do we get an e-mail informing us of shipping and a tracking number?

I placed my order on a Monday and mine was shipped UPS ground from the mid-west (Kansas I think) the same day and arrived at my house on Thursday. I got a tracking number too within 24 hours.

I ordered mine on Tuesday and got an email from them on Friday evening saying that they will ship it out on Monday due to parts shortage.

Default ordered mine, received it

installed it....

EXCELLENT MOD.

Dont know how I lived without it.

Even the door lock confirmation chirp is handy as hell.

How could Porsche have missed the boat entirely by leaving out so many features. Sitting in the car and holding the top button, then having to hold the front window button, then having to switch to the rear window button and hold and wait was about the most annoying end to a great drive.

I have to assume, at least with respect to the one touch roof operation via inside switch or remote, that its a safety issue. After all, only manual intervention will stop the automatic roof movement. If some kid or baby sticks there arm in there and you don't see it to manually stop the auto-operation, you would have one heck of a lawsuit.

Remember to be safe with this gadget. It does take some responsibility to be sure of safe operation.

Default well why do other manufactueres not make you

suffer through holding all the buttons?

Furthermore, the windows have the safety feature of auto-stop if anything obstructs the path of closure.
