I always had an answer ready regarding my missing from plate....but now, maybe because I'm getting older, after a million years without a front plate I am starting to worry that I'll be pulled over....and I am seriously thinking of having holds drilled and the plate installed. I'm curious of what you guys think and do. Thanks, Carlos
I just put the plate on and forgot about it. I mounted plate very low. No visible holes in bumper if plate removed.
All that "trouble" because I do NOT want to meet local cops and do not want to give state police the INVITATION to stop me when their break is over and they want to work off doughnut calories.
I have nothing to hide but, do I WANT to get to know the cops? No thanks.
We have 3 cars in California and don't have a front plate on any of them. I've heard stories of tickets for no front plate but fortunately (knock on wood) we have been unaffected. Perhaps it's the "11-99 Foundation" license plate brackets on all three cars that has made the difference. Either way, I believe it's a "fix a ticket", right?

That is being unnecessarily hard on those guys. They don't have a job like that. When someone starts going on about what you do, and they are completely incorrect, don't you think they look kind of foolish?
i personally think that if you aren't a terrorist and don't break the law then it should be ok unless the state that u r in has severe penalties... If u live in a state that doesn't require one and go to another state are u supposed to get a front plate? IMHO, when u have a 100k car u shouldn't worry about it unless u are a terrorist drug dealer/ driving while suspended, severe penalties/ fines...

Tell me more about the 11-99 foundation "making a difference". Does it? Have you seen it save you before. Certainly less expensive then a kick @ss radar/laser install.
Of course it spoils the lines of the car but in Europe we have little choice in the matter,--enforcement of traffic rules, etc. is much more severe. Once you see all the cars with a front plate you just don't get worked up about something minor.

Agreed, Allegretto. Every Illinois State Police officer I have met has been a perfect gentleman - but then, I always call them "sir". Common courtesy. If I get pulled over, it's likely because I'm being a d*ckhead...
I wouldn't want their job. I have asked my village police chief and several county sheriff's officers about the front mount plate, and the answer is, paraphrased: "If you get pulled over because of the lack of a front plate, call me with the officer's badge number. He just doesn't have f*cking enough to do...".
In my town, I let the kids in the Evo 8s get the attention of the police... then I hit the "Sport Off" switch and motor by quietly, 20 over...
And, whatever you do... if your city/town/village has a local sticker - buy it and display it. That's critical to getting a local break... (again, data from the same officers).
Thanks for creating the pole. In Texas local authorities are unlikely to pull you over for this offense, but may write you up if they already have you. State Troopers will pursue you for this offense alone. Fine ranges from $60-120. I've been written up once.
