Default 2007 US prices - CONFIRMED!

I can't believe it's almost the middle of June - with June builds offered, too! - and MY 2007 prices for the US are still not available.

Sorry for the lack of interesting info, just had to whine for a second.

I'll second that...I have a July build/Aug delivery that is supposedly around 30 days from commencing, yet there's still no order guide available.

Hmmm - just checked renntech.org, and the GT3 preliminary order guide was posted a few days ago - but without prices (document was dated 5/24/06 by Porsche). The 07 Turbo order guide is also up, but it does have prices (and the options for non-Turbos are likely to be the same prices), but you still won't know what they are doing with the base price.

I ordered my car around this time last year and I didn't get any pricing (2006) until I got my car in August.

I just ordered a 2007 C2S and was told 2007 prices are likely to increase about 3% from 2006...we'll see. My car is to be built in July with delivery in September.

As the news blackout lengthens, do the odds of a sig refreshment, a la the 02 996, increase?

If the bump is 3% with nothing additional aside from TPMS, and prices don't arrive prior to cars arriving on the lot, I will reconsider my order.

I wonder if any styling cues will carry over from the Turbo or GT3 to the other 997 models.

Unfortunately, we already knew that a) UK prices were going up by 2k, b) no new default specs for UK cars, and c) neither of these necessarily apply to US prices. TPMS is mandated by US law, so it will become standard at some point (2007 is likely).

I was excited for a minute there.

Just visited my local Porsche dealer about ordering an '07, the rep told me the prices will be available around August as that's whey the'll have to finalize their first units allocated for production.

He showed me a screen on his computer where they've already entered orders against their
allocations but all without prices.

He e-mailed me a copy of the '06 ordering guide and figure that with the exception of a few new accessories or possible options, the MSRP and options pricing wouldn't deviate from '06 by more than a few percentage points.

I wonder what the experience was of individuals shopping for a 996 between 2001 and 2002. When did the significance of the "refreshment" become widely known. ie, did someone buying a 2001 996 in May or June realize that the July or August 02 would have a larger engine etc etc etc ? When exactly did the extent of the upgrades become widely known. Was the 02 996 a surprise?
