Default Collapsible Spare Instructions (PDF)

For those of you who have equipped your 997 with the 996 series collapsible spare, I have taken the pages from the 996 owner's manual concerning fitment of the collapsible spare and made them into a 600K PDF file.
I have placed this file on my smart phone and recommend that you do the same - or simply print the 6 pages and leave them in your glove box.
The instructions cover the use of the scissor jack and specifications for inflating'deflating the collapsible spare with our portable compressor.

Dave, once again indebted to you for providing the information I was missing. I'm guessing that the 36psi recommended pressure is suitable for a C2S. Thanks.

Hmmmmm.... I'd be interested in making a decent cover that you could carry in the back seat ..and then a 'dirt bag' to carry the flat in. I've got the width and OD of the will-be-flat (mine) but not that spare with the red hub. Leather would be a bit overkill, but Sunbrella marine fabric has good properties and tons of colors.

Did my ADD catch that a Boxster spare would work on our 997's? ('just happen to have one of those...)

THx Colm, I was wondering about this issue!

I think this needs to be confirmed. I have heard that others with PCCBs have done it. Make sure you have the right spare part number.

I know this thread is old; but most valuable. I bought the collapsible spare for my 07 997tt, but in the PDF Coochas listed from the 996 , it mentions 5 vs 17 mm spacers. Has anyone had experience or can advise on the proper usage of this spare?

I just called Sunset Porsche on spare tire for my '08 Carrera S and the Parts guy quoted me with:

Part#: 99636202004 (Folding spare tire) $506 + shipping

This part# is different from 997 C4S 996-362-020-03 or 996-362-020-02 for MMD's car. I am really confused as to which is the right one.
