FWIW, another way to look at it:

You will see "911S" as a factory original designation ONLY on 1968-1977 cars

Porsche AG ended the label "911S" with the 1977 model year and went to the 911 SC (Super Carrera) designation from 1978 through 1983. In 1984 they just went to the (nearly) generic term "Carrera."

I would remove one letter and three numbers. But that's just me...

I would center justify the complete letter set (move 911S left) as well as top justify the S (move S down).
