Hi everyone, I am new around here, hope you guys can help me with my questions.
i am looking for a used 997S, 2005. I need options like heated seats, Nav, Sports chrono pack, Bose sound system. How much do you think i can get one for? with mileage below 10k.
For example, If a dealer listed a car at $80,000, Do you think (usually) he will settle for $75,000? I just wanted to know the margin dealers usually work with so i wont be paying too much. how much should i pay from a private dealer?
I also have looked at some cars with the ceramic breaks, i read here that it would be more expensive to maintain, can you guys explain it to me? and how much it would cost when i have to replace it?
Thank you, your comments would be greatly appreciated.

If this helps - I was able to get a slightly used 2005 997S in Atlas Grey Metallic, with Bose, Adaptive Sports seats, Nav, Sports Chrono, and full leather. It about 2.5k miles and was/is in great condition. I worked a deal with the dealer for mid to upper 70s (I don't quite recall).
The depreciation hits pretty fast - it was about 20k below the original sticker.
Hope that helps.
I have no regrets the 2005 997s is an amazing vehicle.

It would be a rare thing to find a used coupe with your options as stated, particularly the PCCB brakes. They are not necessarily more to maintain,--the pads are about $100 more than the steel one's. I don't agree that many people are swapping in the latest generation of PCCBs for steel,--he needs to qualify that statement. From everything I have read the feeling is incredible. I have them on my ordered car.
You should be able to get the car for $75k,--if not, walk away and find another. There are plenty of 997s for everyone!

I'm sorry, what i meant was can i get around $75k for a car as stated above, bose, etc, but without the PCCB. The PCCB was a seperate questions, because when i was reading around, i just noticed that some people said it was more expensive to replace..
Thanks

A good resource to gauge used car pricing is Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com)
I ran the car you described and used Los Angeles for the zip code and 20,000 miles on the odometer and the "retail" price (what you'd expect to pay for the car at a dealer) was $77,265. The Private Party price (what you'd expect to pay a private seller) was $70,850. Both these quotes are for a vehicle in Excellent condition.

I think you can do better, but not much. Recently bought an '05 997S, black/black, Sport Chrono, Bose, 6-Speed with 9,500 mls and paid $72.5K at a dealer.

Thanks for the info. I have looked at most of the cars you listed there. What i really wanted to know is how much should i pay for, say, the car at the top, listed at $79,995..Do you guys think the dealer will let it go for around $75k?

I'll bet they will take it. Dealers always leave some negotiation room in their prices. Offer them less than that, and see what happens.
