GIAC/EVO Mods...Good or Bad
Greetings, first post in this forum. I am planning to mod my 997C2 with an EVO V-flow & GIAC flash, but went to my dealer today and drove all porsche models. 
Now I'm really confused. Should I modify my car or not? I keep reading good and bad things on these modifications. I want to hear it staight from peolple that have added a V-flow and flashed the ECU(GIAC). Any immediate problems? Hesitation, Installation, Check Engine Light issues or any other comment good or bad are greatly appreciated. The alternative is to wait a few months and get either a C2S or C4S. Thanks in advance!

Haven't had either, but it will hurt your warranty. In my humble opinion, it's not really worth it, should you ever have a problem with your motor. I'd just wait a few months and get a 997S, or longer and get a turbo, or GT3.....

I have done those mods (on a TT) and I just don't think you want to do it on a C2. It won't get you that much (from what I have heard on NA cars). I agree with Brett...if you really want some juice...go TT or GT3! And the S would be a second good alternative.

the Giac + Evo + exhaust mods do work... I have a 99 996 with GIAC + K&N + PSE and it as as fast as my friend's STOCK 997... we did strait line testing all day and we are exactly the same in rolling accel tests...
this year my friend with the 997 added a GIAC flash + Evoms air filter + Tubi exhaust and he is pulling on me during in gear acceleration tests from 5-100 mph... say about 3-4 car lengths during this test... that tells me those mods definitely give him a leg up and that TUBI exhaust sounds awesome!!!
