I'm clueless as to how this would work. Does someone have a picture or link that demonstrates how these work?

Currently I just don't mount my front plates because I can't bear to put holes in my baby, but I also risk getting an extra ticket for not having it if I get pulled over. If there is a trick with the tow hook that I can allow me to have the plate without modifying my factory bumper then I'd do it.

you screw it in where the tow hook goes on the front of your car and mount plate very simple.

Sorry for being dense, but a license plate has two to four holes to screw into something and the tow hook, which is offset from the center only has one input. Since I haven't seen one of these, I have this wierd vision of a bolt coming out of the tow hook with one screw input and putting my license plate hooked up into that. My vision is very redneck looking, so I'm really looking for something more than its very simple.

Cool - now we are getting there that's part of what I needed. Now I'd like to see what it actually looks like on a car as tow hooks are far from center, so how bad does having an offset license plate look?

ronmart, actually someone has post a pic with the plate on a 997 perviously. I think it looks O.K. It is much better than drilling a couple of holes on the bumper.

I'm still very interested. The Palo Alto PARKING police just hit me with a fix-it ticket for no license plate. I can either attach a front plate (no way am I drilling holes in the front bumper if I don't have to) and pay a $10 fine, or I can just pay $75 and not fix it. So this license plate mount could save me $65 if I had it each time I get a ticket - which is once every 2 years it seems.

One question: what keeps the mount from vibrating loose and the license plate frame from rotating?

This seems like a great solution - I'm sure more people would want one once it's available and there's some feedback on the design. I'm willing to be a guinea pig / early adopter.

I have had one for a month, we worked on stud length for 997's as well as hole placement for N.J plates, etc.. So far I have it in the trunk, until my first ticket...While I had it on fora 600 mile trip it remained secure.
I will use it if I must, I refuse to drill and it is a great option!

useridchallenged, if I were you, I just get one from them at http://www.moweraxle.com/index.html directly without waiting for this group buy. I don't think this group buy is going anywhere. Good luck on your ticket.

Friend got a fix it and stuck the plate on with double sided tape, went to DMV, showed them, paid the $10, drove home, removed plate.

Good question and I'm not sure. I think I'm going to order one of these things. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
