Does anyone know of any negative side effects of parking the car for about 9 weeks? I have tyre cradles and the trickle charger is on order, but I'm concerned that there may be other ill effects that I'm unaware of. My only other alternative to doing this is to let Mrs. Irish Guitar drive it and she's not that keen given that she knows how bummed I'd be to come home to door dings and curb rash! For what it's worth, also, the car's not yet run in if that makes any difference. Thanks in advance for any and all wisdom.

No need for fuel stabilizer if left for nine weeks. Just be sure the tank is topped off to keep moisture out.

For nine weeks you might want to hook up a battery maintainer.

I'm with Jeff,....I'd be more worried about my mental health than the car.
When I recently left my baby for about 8 days, the remote unlock deactivated itself,...I used the key to open the door (there' actually a keyhole there if you look hard enough) and then the alarm went off,...which was OK once I put the key in the ignition,....then the remote stuff reset to normal baseline.
Be prepared for some withdrawal man!

Jeff...do you think your fuel is fresh from the refinery? Pour what you want into your $80k car...but I'd be a lot more concerned about the bogus claims and therefore the product than leaving the car for a couple months without it.
I travel for 3-6 months at a time, and have never had any fuel system related issues in any of my cars.

wqow must everything turn into an argument?
just let her drive it, she'll drive it like a woman and it'll get a good break in
and her being worried about door dings and curb rash will make her extra careful - just do it!

Icon Jeff, I just noticed your name in the wee font. My response was to InTheAir Jeff.
Brett, I was expressing my opinion on the subject...nothing more.

Up north most of us put our cars away for winter hibernation.
My routine is . . . fuel stabilizer into a half tank of fuel, fill up (to disperse the stabilizer and have it run through the fuel system to the engine) . . . clean it, hook up battery maintainer, plug it in, put on cover . . . Cry until spring
