997 alignment specs for track?
Has anyone done a more agressive track alignment on their car? I figure I'll be doing about 70/30 to 60/40 street/track mileage in my car. I noticed after the last track day my outside edges of the tires were getting pretty beat up while the insides were relatively untouched. I would like the tires to wear more evenly when driving spiritedly at the track without compromising (too much anyway) street use. My car is not a daily driver.
I've searched the GT3 forum and read every thread and every post but I did not find a satisfactory answer.
What have you done?

With the OEM suspension, the alignment will always be compromised as you cannot get enough camber for a track application. Maximum negative camber up front is less than -1, when you really need at least -2 or -2.5.
What I have, that makes the car very tossable (but a little bit nervous under hard braking) is:
Front: 0 Toe, -0.8 Camber (Maxed out)
Rear: 3/16" Total Toe in, -1.8 Camber
The geometry and rubber bushings make the car toe out under hard braking, so it can become very nervous but it is manageable if you know what you are doing. Some people prefer to run a bit of Toe in up fron (1/16") for that reason.
Even wiht the above settings, my street tire shoulders wear down quite fast. I don't want to change the OEM suspension but seriously considering camber plates or other way to increase negative camber up front.

With my 996 I got them to adjust to the max neg camber (see above post) and then got track wheels and tires. Try MPSCs. There will still be wear on the outside edge, but you can flip them and stave off the inevitable. Don't have to do the rears as often. I got about a 3/2 ratio. Three fronts, to two rears. The MPSCs are R compound so they are street legal, but soft!
