Default Before & After... Tints

Not (normally) being a fan of dark tints, I contemplated which shade to go with on my new S. After remembering how dang hot it gets in South Florida and wanting a nice contrast for the Slate gray. I decided to forgo my usual choice and go as dark as possible... I know the flames could get high on this one, but I'm happy with the results and that's all that matters

Anyway, thougt I'd share the before and after pics.

It is fine if you like it that dark; must be about 20 percent or so. I think it is probably illegal in Florida. If you get stopped for something else they will include the dark windows as an additional violation increasing the fine. Just not worth it to me.

I beleive Florida Law is 35 percent on the side windows. Good luck with it anyway!

Beautiful car! Slate is so unique and one of my favorites.

I am sure that helps in the bright sun of day time, but the issue I have had with tinting is the seriously compromised visibility at night. At least with dark sunglasses you take em off at night!

Aesthetically, if you like the look then great!

I think it looks much better, the tint makes the whole vehicle look more finished and compensates for fingerprints and the black colored areas of the glass on the rear side windows.

My theory on getting pulled over: either don't get pulled over or be doing something so obnoxious that the tint is the least of the worries.

Sun Down window tints. His name is Mike 954-987-6067 and he goes to you, in Broward. Really nice work. Did my 05 C2, my M3, and a few of my buddys' cars as well. Only reason I didn't use him is because I live in Miami now and he's not found of doing front windshileds (which is what I wanted to complete my blacked out look).

Everyone else: Thanks for the kudos, opinions, and such. I'm not really concerned with being pulled over since I don't drive (too much) like an idiot. I'll leave that for the track.

Tint looks good. I know why you'd want it in Florida.

I think it looks great. I realize that many don't like tint, but I think it is very cool looking and especially useful in Florida. For me, in Michigan, the tint might be too much.

Your car looks awesome with the tint. What's it like looking through the windows at night? I'm thinking of tinting my 997 but wonder if it'll mean having to lower the windows at night to see out?

Yours really looks sweet,

Matt

how you lower the front windsheild???? i also worry about the night vision...humans night vision is very compromised as it is, we dont need any futher diming of the amount of light coming in...the tint does look cool withthe slate, but generally i am not a fan of increased tint...it makes the car look too bling-bling....
